There have been numerous sports games in the Mario franchise. Although originally a branch of the Mario sports games, the Mario Kart series is not included in this list, as it has since become a stand-alone series in the Mario franchise.
GameCube Information. GameCube console, was developed under the codename Dolphin, belongs to the 128-bit era or sixth generation of video games consoles (with the Dreamcast, PlayStation, Playstation 2 and Xbox). It was presented to the public together with the GameBoy Advance and several games on Nintendo’s Space World 2000 exhibition, held from August 23 to 27 in Japan.
Mario Tennis series[edit]Mario Baseball Gamecube Rom
While Mario appeared in several tennis games preceding it, he first starred as a player in the Virtual Boy game Mario's Tennis, developed by Nintendo R&D1. Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64 was the first to use the Mario Tennis branding. Most all successive Nintendo consoles and handhelds have featured a game since. Like the Mario Golf series, all of the games are currently developed by Camelot Software Planning.
Mario Golf games[edit]
As with tennis, Mario appeared in multiple golf games before appearing in a Mario branded entry on the Nintendo 64. NES Open Tournament Golf was developed by Nintendo R&D2 and was the first game to feature Mario as a player. The next game, Mario Golf for the Nintendo 64, was published by Nintendo and developed by Camelot Software Planning, who has developed all games in the series since. A second version was released for the Game Boy Color. Since then, there have also been releases of one game on both the GameCube and the Game Boy Advance. The fifth installment was released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2014.
Mario Baseball games[edit]
The Mario Baseball series is a collection of video games based on baseball that takes place in the Mushroom Kingdom. The series are developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
Mario Strikers games[edit]
The Mario Strikers franchise (Mario Football in PAL regions) is a video game franchise that introduced soccer to the Mushroom Kingdom. The series is developed by Next Level Games and it began in 2005 for the GameCube with Super Mario Strikers.
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games series[edit]
The Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games series is a collection of games that takes place during the Olympic Games in the Summer and Winter, crossing over characters from the Mario series with those from Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. It debuted in 2007 for the Wii with the Beijing 2008 edition called Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. The Japanese version is published by Nintendo, while Sega published the American and European versions. Nintendo also published the American and European versions of the fourth game.

If you're looking for a hardcore baseball game then you need to go someplace else, but if you're looking for just plain old fun, this is the right game. Lots of mini games keeps me coming back after completing the Challenge mode. Just another great addition to the Nintendo line-up.
